£20,000 FROM THE LOTTERY FUND TO HELP OUR COMMUNITY THRIVE
Today we had some fantastic news from the Lottery they told us:-
“We’re going to fund your project idea
We’re so happy to tell you we really liked your application for funding. And we want to give My Community, Your Community, Our Community programme of work £20000 to help your community thrive.”
Chair of the Charity Rosemary Mathews said “ We put in a grant application last month to help with our annual running costs which are around £27,000, we didn’t think we would hear anything until after Christmas so today’s news was an amazing surprise.”
She continued “I think all charities are wondering how they are going to keep going with the cost of living rises and increases in overheads. I know we’ve been around for 40 years but each year it gets tougher, especially as a small local charity, to raise the funds to keep us going; this news gives us some breathing space to raise the additional funds we need, and to plan for the next 12 months. I know the volunteers and my Trustees will be relieved to hear we have sufficient funds to keep going for the next 12 months.”
